Camera permission was denied
RepRecap needs camera access to do anything. If you see a black screen, a "Camera unavailable" message, or RepRecap asks you to "Open Settings" — the permission was either never granted or was revoked.
Re-granting camera access
- Close RepRecap.
- Open the iPad's Settings app.
- Scroll down the left column until you see RepRecap. Tap it.
- Turn on the Camera toggle.
- Reopen RepRecap.
The live feed should appear within a second or two.
What if Settings doesn't show RepRecap?
If you've just installed the app and haven't opened it yet, it won't appear in Settings until the first launch. Open RepRecap once, dismiss any prompts, then go back to Settings and look again.
If the app is installed, has been opened, and still doesn't appear in Settings — try restarting the iPad. (Hold the power button + a volume button until the slider appears, slide to power off, wait, hold the power button to turn it back on.) Then check Settings again.
What about microphone access?
RepRecap does not request microphone access, and the app does not record audio. If you see iOS asking for microphone permission for RepRecap, something is wrong — please report it to support@springmillai.com.
What about Photos access?
Photos access is only requested when you try to export a clip or reel. If you declined it, you can re-grant it the same way:
- Settings → scroll to RepRecap.
- Tap Photos.
- Choose All Photos, Selected Photos, or Add Photos Only. (For RepRecap, Add Photos Only is enough — the app only writes, never reads.)
If you don't ever plan to export from RepRecap, you can leave Photos access disabled.
