Library and search

The Library tab is RepRecap's view into every clip you've saved. It's where you tag, organize, and build reels from.

What's in the Library

Every clip you've ever tapped Save on appears in the Library. They're sorted newest first by default.

Each row shows:

  • A thumbnail (the first frame of the clip).
  • The clip's length (in seconds).
  • The date saved.
  • The athlete tag, if any.
  • A truncated note, if any.

Tap a clip to open it. From the clip view you can play, tag, add a note, share, or delete.

How it relates to your Photos app

RepRecap stores clips in your iPad's Photos library, inside a per-team album named RepRecap — <Team Name>. This means:

  • Clips show up in both the RepRecap Library and the Photos app.
  • If you back up your Photos library (e.g., via iCloud Photos), your RepRecap clips back up too.
  • If you delete a clip from the RepRecap Library, it's also deleted from the Photos album.
  • If you delete the clip directly from Photos, the RepRecap Library will show it as missing on next refresh, and you may need to remove it from the Library to clean up.

Filtering

The Library supports a few filters at the top of the screen:

  • Player — show clips tagged to one athlete, or "Unassigned" clips only.
  • Has note — show only clips that have a note.
  • Date range — show only clips from a specific span (last 7 days, this month, etc.).

Tap a filter chip to toggle it. Filters stack — you can show "Sophia, last 7 days" by enabling both.

To clear filters, tap Clear (top-right) or tap each chip again to disable.

Searching

The search bar accepts:

  • Athlete namesophia matches any clip tagged to Sophia.
  • Note textplatform matches any clip whose note contains the word.
  • Datemay 8 or 2026-05-08 matches clips saved on that date.

Search is case-insensitive and matches partial words.

Selecting multiple clips

Tap Select (top-right) to enter selection mode. Then:

  • Tap clips to select them.
  • Use Select all to grab everything currently shown (respects filters).
  • Bottom action bar offers Assign player, Share, and Delete.

This is the fastest way to:

  • Tag a batch of clips from the same drill to one athlete.
  • Export several clips at once.
  • Clean up clips you don't need.

Refreshing

If you've added or deleted clips outside RepRecap (e.g., by deleting from the Photos app), pull down on the Library to refresh. RepRecap re-syncs with the Photos album.

How big can the Library get?

There's no hard limit. The Library has been tested with 500+ clips and remains responsive. If you're a heavy user across multiple seasons, scrolling to find an old clip can get tedious — use search or filters to narrow down.
